Octillion Power Systems Opens New Nevada Battery Plant

(Richmond, CA) A new battery system manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada was started by Octillion Power Systems, a world-renowned supplier of advanced high-density lithium-ion battery packs for a variety of passenger and commercial fleet electric vehicles.

The facility of 40,000 square foot will serve as an entry point into grid storage, off-highway, commercial equipment, marine, and electric car markets in North America. It will highlight the company's signature blend of advanced automation throughout its production lines, futuristic robotics, and human touch labor.

The combined capacity of Nevada's production lines is expected to reach 1GWh by 2025, complementing Octillion's projected 25GWh of yearly production across its seven other manufacturing locations worldwide.

"The arrival of Octillion in Western Nevada is a major boon for our state's electrification industry," declared Taylor Adams CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN). "Octillion's reputation as a global-leading tier-1 supplier of batteries for the electric vehicle industry is a clear signal that Nevada is on the right track for leading in automotive energy storage."

To add more sophistication and quality control, Octillion plans to hire a top-tier group of engineers stationed in Reno. At full capacity, the Nevada One plant is expected to employ 40–50 trained, as well as, non-skilled individuals, boosting the local economy in Reno and Nevada.
